Behind the brilliant white façade of a former metal foundry lies our Newmarket Yu Mei Lounge. Though, with its ambitious size and multiple entertaining options, it’s probably closer to a whole Yu Mei Residence.

Designed with Knight Associates, the space is delineated by three distinct zones. At the front is the reception area, where you’ll find our current season range. Through the glass double doors is the gallery space, featuring a shoppable archive of past season styles, and a display of artworks by some of our favourite contemporary artists. Past the gallery, you’ll find the salon—a lounge area equipped with a full kitchen and Mario Bellini Camaleonda sofa.

With its spacious and warm interiors, our Newmarket Lounge is the ideal place to connect with our community and fellow Club Yu Mei members, through the likes of events, dinners and drinks. We invite you to visit our lounge at 8 Kent Street, and stay a while. We hope it feels as familiar and comfortable as a home.

Before our Auckland Lounge in Newmarket, there was our Wellington Lounge: the original Yu Mei concept store. Located at 85 Victoria Street, in the heart of the historical Mibar building, our Wellington Lounge is a warm, welcoming haven in the heart of the city.

The centrepiece of the Lounge is a large Giotto marble island—below which sits a drinks fridge, ready to open at the push of a button. The goal is that each visitor feels relaxed enough to put their feet up and enjoy a drink, while choosing the best bag for their needs.
