The Spring Summer ’25 Collection is a vibrant tribute to the season, featuring a rich and spicy colour palette of Terracotta, Carob and Wasabi.
Inspired by resources from the earth and time-honoured rituals of making, crafting, and forming vessels, the SS’25 Collection evokes the sense of permanence and memory tied to these ancient elements. It celebrates heritage and craftsmanship woven into utilitarian design.
Yu Mei classics are reimagined in these tones, adding warm notes to the spring and summer months in the city, to then find their place as timeless wardrobe staples.
The Art of Packing
A system to streamline daily life. Informed by our own experiences of living, working, and travelling, the UTILITY ecosystem is a collection of pieces that work together to simplify everything you pack and carry in a day.
Select your Large Bag
The big bag, for those heavy duty carrying jobs. When selecting yours, consider—what do you carry in a day? Do you like to throw everything in, or prefer to keep organised with separate pockets and compartments? Do you want something more casual and relaxed, with a draped shape? Or something more structured for your professional self?
Select your Organiser
Organisers are not only great tools to keep the contents of your large bag organised, they’re also practical ways to make your daily life easier. Conveniently catalogue your personal items, no matter how little or much—all sized organisers are designed to transfer and fit seamlessly within each other and the Yu Mei mainline pieces.
Choose your Medium Bag
‘Medium bags’ are an essential piece of your capsule carrying wardrobe. Stow away in your large bag or organiser so it’s handy to pop out to lunch with, or take to that event you forgot was in your calendar.
Choose your Implements
The last piece of the tetris puzzle, implements are designed to lay flat and file on top of one another. Pouches and envelopes house makeup, skincare, cables, pencils, pens and everything else you find at the bottom of your bag. Cable ties add an extra layer of organisation to tangled cords, simply loop, wrap and secure—leave them attached to your cords so they travel with you wherever you go—a system engineered for fully-fledged function.
Choose your Small Leather Goods
Small leather goods keep your cards safe and easily to hand. The range includes wallets of varying sizes—from slimline cardholders for the most minimal among us, to larger wallets that can carry an abundance of cash, cards and coins. We also have the perfect miniature bag to tie to your tote bag, and a key fob and clippable clutch that attach to the D-links in our larger styles, always at the ready.
We are immensely proud to have achieved B Corp Certification, marking a significant milestone in our Regeneration Roadmap and solidifying our commitment to responsible practices that prioritise the well-being of our planet, our people, and our community.
The B Corp Certification is globally recognised as one of the most comprehensive and rigorous verifications of standards for accountability and transparency in social and environmental performance.
Yu Mei is founded on the pillars of Regenerative Utility. Each design begins with a genuine need which informs a base level of utility, made with regenerative materials from the land.
Each leather skin used in a Yu Mei bag passes through 35 sets of hands to get to its final state. We proudly hold close relationships throughout our supply chain and consider our partners part of our team.
We have partnered with a manufacturer in Dongguan that upholds the highest level of craftsmanship and social responsibility.
Born out of our commitment to circularity, the Buyback Initiative works to extend a product’s useful life through mending and refurbishing, and our annual Archive Event is a crucial mechanism in our efforts to reduce waste.
In 2020, we raised $51,590 for the Wellington City Mission through our innovative Bags For All campaign.
Measurability and accountability are important to us to formalise the sustainable, regenerative, and circular practices that inherently exist at Yu Mei.
Yu Mei’s vision is to create a considered existence and cultivate responsible stewardship within our global community. Through regenerative processes and utilitarian design, we champion a circular model of production and consumption, from minimising waste to maximising use at every stage of our products’ life cycle.
